Will Yates, Managing Director, Groupe SEB UK & I puts it best in his interview in the October/November edition of IER Magazine: “The Independent sector is an area which we would really want to support more, their survival is after all critical to our communities, however they have to offer points of difference to ensure that they remain relevant.”
It is important to us to offer a service that does more for our retailers; by offering them support in the form of market insights, merchandising and advice on market trends and how they can play to their strengths with what they have.
We encourage all of our independent retailers to reach out to us for advice and insight and our teams will always be happy to support them.

The EPE team has really been getting into the fundraising spirit for Children In Need 2019 with an in office Bake Off style competition; where the participants had their creations judged in a blind taste test on taste and appearance by our special guest judge Steve Marsh, Channel Controller for Groupe SEB; who very kindly also purchased some of the cakes after the competition to aid our fundraising efforts for this wonderful cause.
The winner of our Bake Off competition was Sophie Stead, Purchase Controller at EPE; with Natasha Copeman, Head of Internal Sales and Debra Nichols, Internal Sales Manager – Electrical Wholesalers coming in at a joint second place. Take a look all of the delicious bakes below.
After the competition the cakes were then sold in our head office, as you can imagine they were sold pretty quickly. The fun didn’t stop there; the team also took part in the Annual Children In Need Duck Race Sweepstake 2019; the competition was rife. With prizes up for grabs and the motivation to do some good for a good cause everyone was eager to cheer on their pun-tastic duck to the finish line. Though in the end the duck known only as Beakwell Tart won the race, albeit without its cherry and Iwona Grabowska, Accounts Administrator won the sweepstake.
In total the EPE team raised £251.08 that will go to the Children in Need charity.
Here at EPE we’re always looking for ways we can give back to the community; watch this space for more fundraising activities on the run up to Christmas!

EPE’s Noel Pamment, Managing Director and Harry Singh, Operations & Finance Director congratulate their friend and retailer Philip Hart, of Harts of Stur on recieving the Honorary Achievement Award at the Excellence of Housewares Awards 2019.
Philip Hart, retiring Managing Director of Hart of Sturs was awarded the Honorary Achievement Award for his contributions to the housewares industry over his 40 year career. On collecting the award Philip stated,

As Sales Director of EPE the UK’s number one distributor of branded SDA and Cookware I am pleased to announce as part of our investment in our future growth plans we have now recruited four new Regional Sales Managers taking the team to eight covering all of the UK, Ireland and the Channel Isles.
We have further invested in our internal sales team which now has a team of five that will enhance all points of contact with our customers.
We have committed to additional investment in automation to provide industry leading operational systems that will enhance our service to the customer and provide capacity for future growth.
We are committed to our colleague retention and engagement journey with all of the EPE team. This is part of our core strategy of being a ‘’great place to work’’ this will bring both internal and customer benefits.

Our Strategic Brand Partners Beko launched a new TV laundry campaign to raise awareness for their new laundry technology Aquatech.

The EPE International team have been having a little fun this week and enjoying some team building events whilst raising monies for two chosen charities. Teams within the company have been taking part in mini feel good events ranging from a corporate SDA themed quiz to a great office bake-off using a selection of products from our No1 brands and strategic partners, fun was had by all and more importantly money was raised, this will be donated to Kirkwood Hospice and Mind.

The EPE team have been busy doing some good for Breast Cancer Awareness Month; this morning we held a bake sale to raise some money for the Breast Cancer Now charity.
Breast Cancer Now supports those with Breast Cancer with raising awareness, improving services for those with Breast Cancer and funding world class research to prevent and improve the lives of those affected.
Together we have raised £107.77 to be donated to this well deserving charity and we hope to continue to support charities like this in the future.
