Breville – History
‘founded in Melbourne in 1932’
The Breville brand originates from Australia and was founded in Melbourne in 1932. Breville were the creator of the original sandwich toaster, the product was a such a success upoin its launch in Australia in 1984, that in its first year alone it sold 400,000 units and making the Breville name a household name in Australia. Similar success came from its launch in Great Britain and New Zealand. The name became synonymous with such devices, to the point where in some countries ‘Breville’ has become the generic word for sandwich toaster.
Today, Breville still leads the way with its sandwich toaster range, but the Breville name is now also synonymous with kettles, toaster and irons, as well as a range of food preparation products such as blenders, food processors, juicers and many others.
